They start by providing a "free" service to people wanting to get their message out to a lot of friends, like twitter. They build their database of cell numbers and emails then sell them to companies for advertising purposes. For the warranty call, I just tell them to hold on a sec I'll get my car title so I can give you all the pertinent information. I take about five minutes to do it, then I tell them it's a 2007 Lamborghini Diablo :) I usually get hung up on but sometimes the donk on the other end gets combative. I keep him on speaker while he rants so my wife and son get a good laugh. All the while, keeping the ass from calling other people!! LOL! This is just a new form of Spam.
